While writing up some kind words about a couple of new bands, news broke of The National’s intention to release their new album in May and subsequently tour thereafter. I’ve got a soft spot in my ears for the hometown heroes from Cincinnati and after the successes of The Boxer, figured you’d love to hear the news. The new (TBA titled) album will drop in May via 4AD with tour stops here, there, and everywhere:

I’m most excited about Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival because I had to miss it last year but am going this year – you should too, it’s got a stellar lineup.

Please please tour Australia again….having been a too poor to purchase a ticket student when they toured last time and only 'getting' Boxer about 3 weeks after they left i felt gutted….
