Missouri, you strange little midwestern state with a thriving music scene and rising tech sector fostered by Fiber fanatics, has done it again. Young outfit Palace have produced a track unlike anything I’ve heard in quite some time. With the vocal energy similar to Love Language, a cacophonous orchestration of instruments majestically reminiscent of Tally Hall (hello, IGIF 2006), and two female weapons utilized like Longstreth’s ladies.. I like what’s going on here. Upbeat, fun, and with some past-generational swing thrown in – “Callin’ It Quits” is a unique late summer jam worthy of drowning out the A/C’s humming.
